Willingness

"But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.' He answered, 'I will not,' but afterward he changed his mind, and went. He came to the second, and said the same thing. He answered, 'I go, sir,' but he didn't go. Which of the two did the will of his father?" ~ "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire." ~ "What, couldn't you watch with me for one hour? Watch and pray, that you don't enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." ~ "My Father, if this cup can't pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done." ~ "I want to. Be made clean." ~ "Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you." ~ "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done." ~ "Don't think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moses, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote about me. But if you don't believe his writings, how will you believe my words?" ~ "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads."
